Get up close and personal with our beluga whales!
Join us for a Beluga Encounter and come face-to-face with a Beluga whale in a hands-on, interactive and sometimes splashy training session!Beluga Encounters offer visitors an insider's glimpse at the amazing ways that Belugas communicate with each other in the harsh Arctic environment and with us here at the Aquarium. In this amazing adventure, you will get the unique opportunity to visit Imaq and Kavna in the behind-the-scenes marine mammal habitat and participate in an interactive training session alongside an Aquarium trainer. It is an amazing experience you will never forget!

To book by phone please call 604-659-3552 or 1-800-931-1186. Booking office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. To book online please e-mail programs@vanaqua.org. Please allow 24 hours notice for phone and email bookings. Within 24 hours, please book onsite at the Membership desk.

Members receive a 20% discount on all animal encounters!
Children* under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
* Child = ages 8-12. Minimum age 8 years.
Beluga Encounters require participants to stand and kneel for extended periods of time, go up and down stairs, walk on wet, rocky surfaces, and be in and around the water. Please advise us of any disabilities, special needs, medical conditions or concerns you may have that could prevent you from fully participating in the program. No concern is too small. The more information you can provide about yourself, the better prepared we can be for your experience.
